"Behold, what manner of love the
Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:" (1 John 3:1). God is love and the focus of His
love is on His children. From the beginning of time, God has shown His love in
diverse ways. Despite the unbelief, disregard and wickedness of man throughout
time, God has been faithful and loving. What a Father! Our opening scripture
tries to bring to our consciousness the manner of love God has for his
children. Romans 5:8 goes further to describe the depth of God’s love. God’s
love, who can comprehend? He loves you.
However, many believers tend to
ignore this abundant love and go about their daily duties without spending a
few moments to bask in the profound love of God. The bible says that the Lord
is at the door of every heart knocking and whosoever opens, He will come in and
fill with love. Why not open your heart today and let him in. He is your father
and wants to be part of your life. It doesn’t matter what you have done. He
understands and loves you despite all, just like the prodigal son in Luke
15:11-24. He is eager to take you back, bath and cloth you in mercy and grace
and guide you with love. Take that step today. Welcome Him in if you have not
done that before. If you have, don’t ask for anything; don’t beg for anything,
just say “God I love You”.
