God has dealt to everyone a
measure of faith. (Romans
12:3). One
characteristic of living things is that they grow. Faith is a living thing and
so it grows. To buttress this point, at one time in the scripture, Jesus asked
the disciples, “Where is your faith?” (Luke
8:25) which means they had no faith at that point. At another time, he said, “o ye of little faith…” (Matthew 16:8).
Yet another time, He described the centurion as a man “with so great a faith” (Matthew 8:10). This goes to show that there
are different levels of faith which means that faith grows.
According
to the scriptures in Romans 12:3, “…God has
dealt to everyone a measure of faith” so no one will say he or she does not
have faith. Once you get born again, faith is imparted into your spirit but it
is now up to you to feed your faith so it will work. How do you feed your
faith? By the word. Romans 10:17 says, “So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The Word is
the food that faith eats. The more time you spend in the presence of God and
you hear faith-filled words or study the scriptures, the more your faith grows.
When you then spend quality time in prayer, especially in tongues, you stir up
the faith to work for you. Don’t let your faith remain at the level it is for a
long time. There is a limit to what your faith can produce for you per time. The
next level of expectation will be brought by a next level of faith.
