And because iniquity shall
abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12). According
to our opening scripture, one of the characteristics of the last days is that
the love of many will wax cold. In other words, the passion and zeal of people
for the things of God will go down. People will prefer watching movies to
watching Godly channels and messages; they will prefer going to meetings and
hanging out with friends to attending services and spending time with brethren;
they will prefer spending money on carnal and material things than on spiritual
and godly things; they will prefer chatting and browsing with their phones to
studying their bibles, and so on.
Beloved,
don’t let this scripture be fulfilled in your life. Don’t get too busy to have
time for God. For some people, their loves grows cold because of persecution;
they are too discouraged to love God, while for others, it is the blessing that
they get that begins to quench their love; they don’t have time for God again.
The scripture sums it up this way, “For I
am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any
other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39). Don’t let the events of the end
time catch you unaware. Be sober and vigilant always so your love will not wax
cold due to the abundance of iniquity.
